Vintage Tours to offer exclusive classic car tours in Portugal from 2025

Kempten, 21 November 2024 - From March 2025, classic car enthusiasts will also be able to travel Portugal in a classic car - with road trips from Vintage Tours.

The Vintage Tours programme focuses on the regions of Portugal Norte, the Douro Valley and the Alentejo, three regions that are among the absolute highlights of Portugal due to their unique landscape and culture.

The provider relies on the British MGA roadsters, which are very popular in Portugal and blend in perfectly with the Portuguese landscape. The vehicles offer guests an optimum combination of unadulterated driving pleasure and reliability, making them the ideal classics for an unforgettable road trip in Portugal.

The Vintage Tours programme includes road trips of varying distances and is aimed at classic car enthusiasts as well as guests who want to explore Portugal and its diversity in a unique way.

The tours in the green North of Portugal are considered an insider tip, as this region with its unique and untravelled roads is a one-of-a-kind classic car destination. The cultural wealth of this region offers guests unexpected insights into the country, such as Guimarães or Braga, which are among the oldest cities in Portugal.

In the Douro Valley the Vintage Tours are completely under the influence of one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Europe. The tours lead from the lively city of Porto to the Alto Douro wine-growing region, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guests stay overnight in exclusive wine hotels that bring the history of winegrowing in the Alto Douro to life.

On the Vintage Tours in the Alentejo guests pass through endless cork oak forests and olive groves. The unspoilt roads lead to unique cultural highlights such as Évora or Elvas, which tell of Portugal's long history and the different cultural influences on the Iberian Peninsula.

Over twenty years of exploring and discovering the country and its people in classic cars have gone into the design of the tours. This also applies to the selection of unique routes, which guarantee optimum driving pleasure and take guests to unique places time and time again. Vintage Tours also sets standards in the selection of hotels and restaurants. For example, the provider cooperates with Pousadas de Portugal, whose hotels in culturally and historically significant buildings allow guests to experience Portugal's long tradition and history in maximum comfort. In carefully selected restaurants, guests can get to know the typical specialities of the respective region.

"The Vintage Tours road trips therefore offer a unique travel experience in Portugal," says company founder Matthias Haux, who has "never let go of the country" after spending several years there professionally over 20 years ago. "The diversity of the landscape, the interesting history and culture of the country and the hospitality and warmth of the people provide the perfect conditions for our Vintage Tours," continues Haux, who has travelled the country many times with his wife in a vintage car and can therefore draw on many insider tips for exploring the individual regions.

The tours will start in March 2025 and the programme will be expanded to include road trips in the Spanish regions of Andalusia and Extremadura from 2026. Further information can be found at www.vintage-tours.com.
